LIVERY
Hillocks Farm has facilities for up to 16 horses within the old stone stables and the new, attached American barn complex, which has automatic drinking bowls and fixed corner hay mangers. All stables are connected by passageways and are serviced under cover by qualified staff.
There is an excellent network of roads and bridleways around the farm, leading up to Catherton Common and the Clee Hill. Fitness work is a priority and riding as safe as anywhere in the UK.
Schooling of young or experienced horses are well catered for, with an extensive range of cross-country courses to choose from, and during the summer months, a moveable show jumping ring on old turf. An all weather competition arena (75m. x 50m.) is planned to add to our facilities and planning permission is presently being sought along with stabling for a further 10 horses, a 2 bedroom staff cottage, and equestrian rural workshops.
Eventing, Show Jumping and Hunting are the three main competitive pursuits, although there is scope for point-to-pointers as well with the all weather gallops of Henry Daly and William Jenks close at hand.
Kit Dwerryhouse, formerly stud groom to the Quorn Hunt and Mrs. Lane Fox at Bramham Park, joined us in September,2003 and is now resident at Hillocks Farm with responsibility for all the horses both at livery and our own hunters and competition horses. He is an exceptional horseman with extensive experience of breaking and schooling young horses, having competed up to Advanced level in his youth and now returning to his Shropshire roots is happy to take on and handle new and young horses alike. Alan Nolan who competed so successfully on the Hillocks horses in 2003 and 2004 will continue to compete from Intro level upwards for Hillocks clients, which should offer sufficient alternatives for individual horses. Please telephone Brian Perry to discuss your requirements in respect of your horse or horses.
Naturally, we are happy for livery clients to ride and compete their own horses from Hillocks Farm and terms are available for stabling and turn-out only, if you prefer to carry out your own exercising, schooling and fitness work
Charges for livery vary depending on what is required by the customer, but the basic full livery is £120 per week which includes all exercising, fitness work, schooling etc.. Please call by at the farm by appointment to discuss your requirements and terms of business on 01299 -270710.
