At Hillocks Farm, we make Haylage for our own horses' consumption as well as for sale.

Presently, we can deliver square bales of haylage (3ft.x 4ft.) which is roughly equivalent to 10 small bales of hay.  The protein content of these bales is high (about 12%) and you will find your horses keep condition in full work or put on weight if out of work.  They can be stored outside and are easy for feeding purposes with the use of a wheelbarrow to carry sheaves.  There is no dust and therefore no need to soak, as with hay.

Bales are made with an anti-mould additive and are guaranteed in good condition.  If faulty, for any reason, normally a puncture in the wrapping, they will be replaced free of charge in your next order.

During the winter, an open bale will last for up to two weeks and in the summer for about four days in warm weather.

Charges :    £25.00 per bale delivered free within a 10 mile radius of Hillocks Farm, or add £2 - £3 per bale delivery charge beyond.  There is no VAT.
